About the Job:
The Electrical Engineer - Global Facilities will be responsible for ensuring reliability and continuity of Electrical Systems for all plants globally. This shall include coordination of electrical systems for facility projects from green field projects to facility upgrades and retrofits both domestically and globally. Projects range from complete building construction to include support for production/process systems design/start-up working closely with Manufacturing Engineering from concept through implementation for various supporting initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Create, implement, maintain, and audit programs/procedures for reliability, contingency, and preventative maintenance of both medium and high voltage distribution systems (12,000 volts or more involving working with substation equipment (transformers and switchgear) to include 34.5, 69, and 115KV systems.

Design, selection, and installation of equipment for plant electrical distribution to support plant expansions, equipment upgrades/additions, or new site construction within the manufacturing or foundry environment.

Implement and/or maintain Arc Flash and Short Circuit Coordination procedures/programs and training for all sites globally.

Develop procedures and standards for hand off to Manufacturing operations for operating and maintaining systems to include standard work instructions, compliance control plans, and standard O&M procedures and documentation.

Audit, support and ensure compliance with National/Local codes, standards, regulations, and other company safety directives.

Participate, assist, and or lead project teams in new construction, expansions, renovations, modernization and/or maintaining of Company Facilities and systems locally and globally as required to maintain reliable and efficient business operations.

Manage projects by efficiently working with manufacturing operations, safety, environmental, quality, accounting, sourcing, and/or any other internal and external project stakeholders.

Qualifications: (education, experience, skills, personal attributes):

Education:

Bachelor's degree – Electrical Engineering or equivalent with practical experience

Experience/Skills:

3-5 years minimum experience in a manufacturing facilities environment, foundry experience is a plus.

Strong background/knowledge in the design, development, installation, and preventative maintenance of Industrial / Plant Electrical Power Distribution Systems to include high voltage (i.e., 34.5, 69, or 115 KV) substation systems.

Solid working knowledge of grounding, lightning and surge protection, lighting, protective relaying, standby generators, low and medium voltage motor control centers and switchgear, medium and high voltage substations, Transformers, mission-critical power systems, and UPS systems.

Working knowledge or experience in implementing/maintaining Arc Flash/Short Circuit Coordination studies.

Ability to read, interpret and/or create drawings, specifications, and other information required to support design and development of construction documentation from concept through full implementation of a project.

Knowledge of national and local building codes, NEC, NFPA, OSHA and/or application of codes governed by other Domestic and International localities.

Experience working with outside contractors to include competitive bid process, responding to RFI’s, issue addendums, process change orders and any related task required by the process.

Due to the broad nature of Facility Engineering, having basic knowledge in the following engineering disciplines are beneficial: Architectural, Civil, Electrical, Environmental, and Foundry Operations

Strong skills in the following software: AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project or related project management software

Personal Attributes:

Engineer will need strong skills in equipment/process design, problem solving, and new process development and ability to multitask multiple projects simultaneously.

Must possess good organization and communication skills and capable of working effectively whether independently or with others in Teams.

Willingness to work outside normal working days/hours to support Facility/Plant Emergencies and/or work with project teams both domestically and Internationally across different time zones.

Ability to travel periodically both domestically and internationally as required.
