Project Engineering Manager - Monoethylene glycol (MEG)

We're currently looking for a Project Engineering Manager with specific experience in MEG Technology. 


FUNCTION PURPOSE:

 

Manage all engineering resources within the Execution Centre.

Responsible for the overall engineering resource performance of engineering activities ensuring technical sounds solutions & timely delivery of quality engineering which fully meet internal & external Client requirements & expectations.

 

 

 

FUNCTION OBJECTIVES:

 

      • Provide overall leadership & management to the engineering team
      • Act as an HSE role model
      • Provide & maintain required core competences within the team
      • Comply with Wellstream global procedures
      • Comply & optimise/enhance Wellstream Processing local procedures & tools
      • Evaluate performance of the Engineering team & recommend to line management action/correction/adjustment.
      • Manage load to avoid under-recovery
      • Establish & Promote internally & externally Operational Excellence of the Execution Centre.
 

 

 

FUNCTION DIMENSION RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

HSEQ

 

  • Ensure compliance & implementation of the Health, Safety & Environmental procedures and Client requirements
  • Ensuring that all projects are subject to hazard and risk analysis by trained and competent personnel by Clients.
 

Business

  • Financial:
    • Participate to the budget preparation
    • Responsible for Overheads & training cost of the Engineering team
    • Responsible to maintain Zero under-recovery within the Engineering Team
    • Responsible for finding, encouraging and implementing new methods to improve cost-efficiency
 

  • Strategy:
      • Keeping abreast of company and regulatory obligations
      • Take appropriate actions and supporting the implementation of continuous improvement strategies
      • Manage risks associated with engineering activities
      • Promote Operational Excellence internally & externally.
      • Help define the structure and organization of the Wellstream Onshore global engineering team.
  • Methods:
      • Work directly with Leads to create accountability for delivery timelines, promote healthy work culture, and ensure quality in engineering
      • Deliver engineering activities through use of systematic documented methodologies
      • Develop, document, implement & deliver Engineering Execution methods in in-line with Company strategy in coordination with Operations team.
      • Document & implement systematic approach to Engineering for E&P deliveries as well as EPC deliveries
 

  • Competencies and manning:
      • Build structure in the engineering team with a focus on people management, career guidance and developing the skills and talents of others.
      • Monitor and determine various staffing and training needs
      • Responsible to attract & maintain competencies within the Execution Centre
      • Responsible to identify gap in competency and to recommend action to implement to cover the gap
      • Mentor, nurture, and grow a cross-functional teams of engineers.
      • Responsible to develop commercial awareness of the team
      • Responsible to man-up all projects according to the demand from concept to studies/tendering & execution
      • Provide advice, direction and mentoring to direct reports
 

  • Project Execution:
      • Ensure that efficient team is allocated for every project
      • Answer questions and resolve issues bought forth by the engineering Team Leads
      • Ensure understanding & implementation of Change Management strategy, system & tool.
      • Manage risks associated to engineering activities within projects as well as opportunities
      • Develop cooperation with Detail Engineering Contractors
      • Ensure that Engineering work is performed according to PEM, to the quality level expected
      • Ensure clarity of interfaces between the different roles in project organisation
      • Attend meeting when required with Clients
      • Keep focus on a quality & HSE mind-set

      • Provide support to the global organisation when agreed between Functional leader & line manager

FORMAL COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE:

 

      • Engineering degree
      • Experience in international Oil & Gas industry (minimum 10 years with minimum 5 years in an equivalent position for either an organization or a large project)
      • Experience in multi-cultural organization.

      • Leadership skills necessary to manage and develop a team
      • Organizational competencies and project management skills to keep projects, processes, and the entire engineering team on track
