Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an Principal Systems Engineer/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to join our team in Aurora, CO.
The responsibilities for this role include:
Performing technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
Ensuring the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
Performing functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
This requisition may be filled at a higher job grade based on the qualifications listed below.
This requisition may be filled as either a Principal or Sr. Principal Systems Engineer.
Basic Qualifications for a Principal Systems Engineer:
5 years of relevant experience with Bachelors degree in a STEM field; 3 years with Masters; 0 years with a PhD
Ability to support simulation and system orchestration subsystems which involve working closely with software/hardware control mechanism, algorithm development, interface definition
Software systems engineering experience
Experience working in an Agile development environment
Comfortable working in a large, diverse team
Active SCI clearance and willing to submit to a polygraph
Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer:
9 years of relevant experience with Bachelors degree in a STEM field; 7 years with Masters; 4 years with a PhD
Ability to support simulation and system orchestration subsystems which involve working closely with software/hardware control mechanism, algorithm development, interface definition
Software systems engineering experience
Experience working in an Agile development environment
Comfortable working in a large, diverse team
Active SCI clearance and willing to submit to a polygraph
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent time management and strong presentation skills
MBSE experience; modeling and simulation experience
Experience working requirements verification and validation
Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Work, Outlook, and Project experience
ClearQuest familiarity and/or Doors experience
Jira and Confluence experience
Experience working in a cloud architecture environment
Robot Framework test suite, continuous development, integration, and test process experience
Salary Range: $96,900 USD - $145,300 USD
Salary Range 2: $120,000 USD - $180,000 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
