Position Title: Systems Sales Engineer
Reports to: System Sales Manager
Position Summary:
Develop assigned territory so that core sales goals and objectives are met or exceeded for industrial engineered systems products, industrial automation, conveyor, and sortation systems.
Principles Duties and Responsibilities:
Identify all prospects and customers in assigned territory and evaluate as to potential and resources needed to develop for new Raymond equipment and related products such as storage rack, rentals, used equipment and engineered material handling systems.
Prioritize all prospects and customers about potential sales to volume, profitability, and time to convert to establish; develop separate lists for new prospects and existing customers.
Develop leads through customer site visits, demonstrations, and marketing materials; determine customer need by analyzing operational requirements.
Develop sales plans that detail strategy, tactics, required support and timetable for attainment of sales objectives to include revenue targets.
Generate proposals in a timely manner and provide follow up and provide field feedback for new product requirements and design enhancements.
Implement sales plan by contacting prospects and customers, selling core products and related equipment and/or systems as identified needs dictate.
Work closely with Systems Engineers as sales opportunities are identified.
Work within a team oriented and collaborative environment with the Systems group.
Make periodic site visits to review progress of projects to completion.
Identify all equipment service and support prospects in assigned territory and evaluate as to potential and resources needed to convert to a service customer.
Analyze and evaluate all existing service accounts for customer loyalty and growth potential, develop and implement sales growth plan.
Familiarize each prospect and existing customer with the full range of service and support products and services and promote the benefits resulting from their use.
Assist in the resolution of customer service problems or disputes that might arise.
Complete sales recap sheets and all other required reports on a timely basis.
Submit expense reports on a timely basis in accordance with company policy.
Support the development and execution of corporate marketing plans.
Maintain regular contact with customer to ensure they are receiving good service after the sale.
Assist in resolving any customer billing issues that may arise including delinquent accounts.
Various additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Work with all departments and employees to ensure quality of customer service,
Special Skills Needed:
Strong interpersonal skills, good presentation skills, ability to relate sales objectives to customer needs and articulate business and/or personal benefits to the prospect in a way that results in sales. Ability to establish and develop relationships that promote sale of core products plus related equipment and services on a continuing basis. Use analytical skills to support sales.
Physical Job Demands:
Communicate verbally and in writing. Use telephone and PC. Drive automobile and make multiple customer calls each day in assigned territory. Make formal presentations. Entertain customers as appropriate. Travel to seminars, conventions, and meetings as necessary.
Position is: Salaried (exempt) + compensation and bonuses
Certifications Required: D.A.R.T. and ASE
Further Requirements: Must maintain valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record and must show proof of current car insurance.
Education Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field or equivalent experience.
Experience Required: Three or more years industrial sales experience with engineered systems; industrial automation, conveyor and sortation systems is preferred. Previous Material Handling Equipment experience is a plus.
