Primary purpose of job

The primary purpose of this job is to oversee the engineering processes and operations related to the integrity of surface wellhead equipment, including but not limited to: Wellhead services, Wellhead Integrity investigations, rectification of wellhead anomalies, wellhead design & tender preparation, wellhead audit, wellhead testing and acceptance, wellhead installations & removal, modification of wellhead, and wellhead surveillance for drilling and completions for both QatarEnergy onshore and offshore fields. 1. Participate and recommend Christ-mass tree and wellhead design to accommodate well integrity surface and downhole barriers requirements. Review all existing installed Christmass trees and wellheads to ensure/confirm compliance with well integrity barriers requirements. 2. Prepare and maintain a data base and identify all wellheads, Christ-mass trees, valves, and associated seals which required investigations, repair and or replacement, based on close monitoring, follow-up, analysis and statistics, coordinate with well integrity onshore and well integrity offshore teams for the required planning, prepare program and guidelines. 3. Follow up wellhead integrity testing and offer any necessary technical assistance. QA/QC wellhead testing reports, and make sure they are signed off and uploaded in the WIMS. During drilling and workovers, monitor wellhead installation activities and draw attention to any irregularities. 4. Analyse the wellhead integrity testing results in light of the actual discoveries and the methods used for the investigations, and whenever necessary, make recommendations for the best corrective action. Using the well failure model as a basis, determine the failure code and repair procedure, and assist the well integrity onshore and offshore delivering a related integrity analysis report. 5. Lead wellhead and surveillance operations, including wellhead assembly, maintenance integrity testing, removal, and repair, as needed, especially for important wells, while ensuring strict adherence to QatarEnergy Drilling Reference Manuals (DRM) and associated industry standards, worker safety, and work efficiency. Capable to review the work / activities of the wellhead supervisors and field technicians and make recommendations to improve their work practices. 6. Responsible all contractual and financial aspects of wellhead integrity testing and repair, including but not limited to the creation of job service orders, the preparation of the work scope, the start of the tendering process, the evaluation of the contractors' performance, and the estimation of the annual budget. 7. Provide expert wellhead engineering advice in the evaluation and decision making process for all wellheads with integrity issues requesting proactive and reactive investigations to formulate plans to restore and preserve wellhead integrity. Collaborate with well integrity onshore and offshore teams to identify new technologies and products related to wellheads and assess their application. 8. Assist in the development of wellhead operation procedures and surveillance plans in line with the department short- and long-term strategies. 9. Initiate actions for continuous improvement by identifying areas to be improved to be able to elevate not only the standards in wellhead operation but also the quality of jobs being performed by the wellhead team. Interact with representatives of service companies which includes setting up guidelines and procedures for wellheads. Arrange service contracts with service companies and follow up for implementation of services. 10. Train, coach & develop Qatari Nationals to further expand their existing knowledge and technical-know-how in compliance with the Qatar Energy Drilling & Development Programs.

Experience & Skills

• Minimum 15+ years’ work experience in the oil and gas upstream industry specifically in the field of wellhead engineering and design, wellhead installation and wellhead integrity issues. Minimum 8 years in Rig wellhead activities – onshore & offshore and minimum 5 years in Senior or supervisory role. • Preferably have a Minimum of 5 years involvement in Xmas tree and wellhead designing. • Skilled in design and installation of wellhead / Xmas tree of Water, Oil & Gas wells, Single and multiple- completions. • Skilled in installing metal seals such as XEMS, SBMS, SRL, RCMS, CANH, elastomer seals and use of wellhead related services tools including but not limited to installation, H-Type Back pressure valve Lubricators, ISA Lubricator & valve removal plug lubricators. • Competent in creating procedures related to wellhead operations, running procedures and customized wellhead methodologies. • Accustomed with surface wellhead brands like FMC, Cameron, GE Oil & Gas Vetco Gray, Wood Group, Breda, Ingram Cactus and Delta. • Proficient in fittings identification and tool use, API 6A manufacturing and testing procedures. • A thorough understanding of drilling operations, well workover, well construction, well control methods and rig-less intervention methods. • Excellent communication skills in English (Written & Spoken) with the ability to manage and control high level meetings and committees. • Ability to lead and motivate a team of wellhead engineering professionals with diverse cultural backgrounds and to provide a clear vision and guideline for successful delivery of wellhead integrity operations objectives. • Strong leadership skills with the proven capability to take firm and decisive action. • Knowledgeable in latest API 6A, NORSK D010 and all related oil & Gas standards. • Experienced in Microsoft Office application, Visio Professional and AutoCAD. • Expert in reading, generating and interpretating engineering drawings of wellhead, Xmas trees related components.

Education

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical and Petroleum Engineering.
