Principal Cybersecurity Consultant (Remote)

We are seeking an experienced Principal Cybersecurity Consultant to serve as a Navy Qualified Validator (NQV) and support the implementation and delivery of cybersecurity products and services for the Federal government. This person will strengthen the Government’s cybersecurity program through conducting cyber assessments and assistance in maintaining compliance and cybersecurity best practices. The candidate will work on a dynamic team comprised of ABS Group employees and highly engaged clients to meet fast-paced project requirements.

- Conduct on-asset Cyber assessments for Government vessels
- Draft documentation, including security assessment reports, system security plans, contingency plans, and disaster recovery plans
- Design and implement cybersecurity solutions for industrial control systems
- Develop project documentation and technical reports
- Provide technical analysis and guidance on control systems security trends
- Assist with training staff on the Risk Management Framework (RMF)
- Assist with eMASS (Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service) data entry requirements and population
- Perform control validation activities and compile supporting artifacts in eMASS
This should describe you:
- Meticulous individual with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Have established understanding of OT security principals, embedded security, and network platforms
- Proven capability to produce reports suitable for delivery and explanation to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Be willing to travel both domestically and internationally, as needed
- Strong critical thinking skills with the capability to align available solutions to complex problems
- Possess strong presentation skills
- Reliable, client-focused, and capable of working productively under normal supervision with demanding timelines
- Assumes ownership of projects and can prioritize assignments based on client needs
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years’ experience in computer and network systems including IT/OT security
- Must be designated a Navy Qualified Validator (NQV)
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain or maintain a U.S. security clearance
- Experienced in the areas of IT/OT Security
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in OT related to the offshore or maritime industries and environments
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity or Computer Science or demonstrated equivalent work-related experience
- Direct technical configuration and implementation of cyber security standards and controls
- Demonstrated knowledge of ISO 27001, ISA/IEC 62443, NIST 800-53, or DISA STIGs
- Proficiency-level professional certification that meets DoD 8570.01-M IA baseline for IAM level 2 (i.e., CISM, CASP+ CE, CAP, CISSP (or associate), etc.)
